Welcome to our new series “Stud Muffin Sundays” where you can learn all things stylish and studly on the first Sunday of every month. To kick off this stunner, we thought we’d share with you the dos and don’ts of pastel wear to keep you looking sharp and always “on point.” And lucky for you, we’ve gathered a few of our studly studs to show you how it’s done. Take some notes.
Alright, so I know what you’re probably thinking: You’re either questioning why you’re still reading this, considering you definitely couldn’t careless about what the perfect pastel is to bring out your eye color. Or, you’re waiting for me to skip into how salmons and lavenders can be incorporated into your everyday routine, because you’re just too excited for all this fun to begin. But I’m going to take wild guess and go with the first one since when you think of pastels, the first thing that might pop into your mind is the flamboyant boy down the street that you sometimes secretly avoid, or the fratty-frat boy that you sometimes secretly wish you were. Either way, pastels are definitely not an every day thing for a macho guy like yourself. Right? Wrong. You’re not even close. Just sit down; this isn’t amateur hour.
The truth is, a soon-to-be stud (you) first needs to master the art of, what I like to call, the shock factor. You don’t have to be super feminine or sworn to “blood brothers” to rock the perfect pastel, you just the need the guts to do it. If you’re willing to wear it, you can rock it; just don’t go over board with neon accessories and high heels (unless that’s your thing). Remember, it’s all about balance. The key to revealing just enough of your studliness to get everyone hooked is to pick one pastel color or pattern that you want to emphasize, and reciprocate it with a neutral piece. AKA wear a brighter color with a duller color. It’s as simple as that. Sometimes, you can even go a little wild with color blocking like our models did in the pictures above… but that’s for another discussion.
Until the next Stud Muffin Sunday…
