How do boys’ and girls’ fashion relate? Well, they don’t, not even a little. But this is exactly why we decided to take on the task of styling a group of guys over the break. We love to study the latest trends and styles of girls fashion, but sometimes it just feels all too familiar and comfortable, so we wanted to branch out a little bit. My brother Nathan and his two friends Eric and Eduardo so graciously allowed us to style them… well, after a little begging. So if you’re a guy who is in need of a new wardrobe makeover, here are a few tips that we think can help! Keep reading to get a little fashion advice from these studs.
Winter is still young and alive, but even though you might be bundled up for warmth, don’t forget that style is a must. Whether you actually care how you look or not, just remember, first impressions last. And you never know who you’re going to meet/run into. Let’s be honest, any guy can look “cool,” so “cool” shouldn’t be the goal. You have to have an effortless “steeze” (does anyone actually know what that means?). This is why casual sweaters and scarves are perfect. Both show style without being completely obnoxious and gawdy. Next, give your old jeans a slight cuff- Don’t go crazy with a tween girl Capri look. (trust me, that’s not the way to go!) Simply roll the ends of your jeans or kakis about 1-2 inches above your ankles. It’s sometimes a plus to even reveal a little mid-ankle sock action. Last, top it off with some “sick” aviators and a pea coat. The winter will surely be no match for your style.
Because Tal and I both live in Florida, we find it simply impossible for all guys to wear such thick clothing during the winter time. So in the pictures above, you will find some clothing options that a more stylish Floridian might wear. If this seems a little impractical because you’re battling snow storms every other day, don’t root them out just yet. These pieces would be great transitional wear for the spring and summer seasons! Shorts…shorts…shorts… Polo, Brooks Brothers, and Perris Ellis all have a great selection. If you’d like to get these brands for better bargains, check out Macy’s and Marshalls. You can always find a price cut there! To make a lighter oufit feel complete, Hawaiin shirts and Sperrys will never disappoint! Check out Tommy Bahama and Ron Jon’s surf shop for the latest looks. With our help, you will surely look like a beaut.
